The Trust Network holds successful Third National Estates Conference in 2019

Over 90 MATs/ Trusts (collectively representing over 900 academies and 425,000 students) from across the country attended our third annual national conference in April 2019, with keynote speaker Rory Kennedy, Director of Capital at the Department for Education.

Rory Kennedy’s keynote focused on ‘Today’s Challenges, Tomorrow’s Opportunities’ while his colleague, Rachael Davies gave delegates an update on Good Estate Management for Schools. This was followed by a panel discussion on the theme of school conditions and sustainability, hosted by Jane Lowrie. The panel included a range of representatives from across the education sector, inviting questions from the audience on relevant topics.

In the afternoon there were six workshops on offer, covering topics on the theme of compliance and sustainability.

Feedback from the event was very positive, with attendees giving their overall experience of the day an average score of 4.5 out of 5!

Feedback from attendees…

“I’m always surprised as to how honest the DfE speakers are and the high calibre you attract”

“The panel discussion was excellent”

“Really very good workshop content. I could have easily attended all of them”

“Very well set out workshops and good balance of useful content”

“I thought it was all excellent”
